About Thomas Zimmerman
My wife and I own a photography studio based out of Hays, KS. We do alot of portrait and wedding work, but a passion of mine has always been capturing the unique and often powerful images from the great plains where we live. We have an appreciation for our roots, and I believe that comes out in our artistic photography. We love living and working in rural America.
Another passion that shows through in our work is the incredible thunderstorms in this part of the country. Their beauty and power is captivating, and we spend a great deal of time each spring and summer chasing them around the countryside.
Alot of our work lends itself well to HDR photography. Its impossible to capture some of our complete scenes without it. I process HDR photographs trying to mimic what the human eye is able to see in the scene, instead of the limited dynamic range of the camera.
